Briton strangles wife
to death in Boracay

BY NESTOR BURGOS JR.

ILOILO CITY--A 41-year-old Briton strangled to death his Taiwanese wife inside their rented room at a resort on Boracay Island yesterday.

The police detained Carl Andrew Foster at the Boracay Special Tourist Police Office after he reported the incident.

PO1 Frensy Andrade of the BSTPO said Foster approached two policemen near the Luna Rosa Restaurant around 1:30 a.m. yesterday and reported the incident.

Foster told the policemen that he strangled his wife after the couple had a fight. Investigators found dead his 43-year-old wife, Fu Chia, at Room 416 of the Casa Pilar Resort near Boat Station 3 in Boracay.

The couple has been staying at the resort since February 17, Andrade said, citing a report. The BSTPO is still investigating the case, Andrade said in a telephone interview.*NPB
