Music for a
tree concert set

A concert by local artists and their thoughts on the environment called "Music for a Tree" will be held at the BAYS Center in Bacolod City, on August 10, a press release from event organizers said.

On July 22, a tree-planting activity will be conducted in Brgy. Estefania, by members of the La Consolacion Environmentalist Club, WWF, KIKKM, Romanito Maravilla National High School, Estefania Elementary School, Sangguniang Kabataan, and the Brgy. Estefania Council. A similar activity will be held in barangays, parks, schools, and upland areas, the press release said.

Endemic and fruit bearing seedlings will be for sale and the price will serve as their entrance fee and contribution for the cause. Proceeds of the concert will go to the series of tree planting activities and nursery establishment and for urban reforestation project.

The event is a project organized by Green Alert Negros Environmental Network, Inc., in cooperation with the WWF, PEACENET, CENRO, Forest Inc., Solar Generation, La Consolacion Environmentalist Club, Katilingban of Ilonggo Kalingga Kalikasan Mountaineering Society, Butlak Banaag Mountaineering Society, Inc. and various environmental organizations, artists and local musicians, and supported by Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
