Prisaa execs meet today

The Western Visayas Private Schools and Athletics Association will hold its final board meeting today at the University of Iloilo to iron out the kinks in its hosting of this year's National PRISAA Games in Iloilo City from April 15-21.

Roger Banzuela, chairman of the Western Visayas PRISAA technical committee, yesterday told the DAILY STAR, however, that the organization still lacks fund for the school-based games despite efforts to raise money. "The budget is still our number one problem," he said.

He explained that, unlike here in Bacolod City, where venues can be used for minimal fees, they have to pay for the facilities in Iloilo City in a daily basis which is more expensive.

Five legs of the 8th Head 10 Junior Tennis Tour Satellite Circuit organized by the Philippine Lawn Tennis Association, will be held in Western Visayas after it kicks off from April 1-4 in Davao City, PHILTA Region VI vice-president Bong Argueles told the DAILY STAR yesterday.

Five cities in the region will be host to the eighth edition of the national tournament including La Carlota City for leg six (April 21-23) and San Carlos City for the seventh leg (April 25-28).

Players will also clash in Escalante City from April 30 to May 3 for the eighth leg while the next stop will be here in Bacolod City from May 5-8. Iloilo City will also be a venue for the competition from May 10-13 for the ninth leg.
