Feminine Touch

A gathering of local female artists exhibited their paintings at Bacolod's landmark Sea Breeze Hotel. Featured were the works of Teret Arnaldo, Dolly Gatuslao, Beth Puey, Miriam Bayles, Sony Golez, Anit Feria and Chrysee Samilliano.

Guests of honor were Patching Puentevella and founder of the Art Association of Bacolod Budot Lizares who cut the ribbon for the opening day. The local art community came in full force to give the ladies support and enthusiastic clients. Ofelia Gonzaga and Lilia Tacardon added humor to the event with their insights on the masterpieces.

Established painters Orville Visitacion and Ramon Hofileņa praised the originality of the exhibit. National Artist Larry Alcala's relatives were present, too. Award-winning film director Peque Gallaga came with son Joval, giving prestige to the occasion. Sylvia Manor's Norman and Sylvia Ocana bought a bundle of oeuvres d'art for their hotel and homes. Proceeds of the sale went to the Negros Elders (Negros Occidental Senior Citizens Association, and the Provincial Hospital patients.

The lady artists will have their next exhibit on March 31 at the Jalandoni Museum in Silay City. To top their agenda will be the Art Fair in Athens, Greece this coming June where they were invited to exhibit their works by the Greek Ambassador to the Philippines. Bravo!!
