2 get life terms
for selling shabu
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Bacolod Regional Trial Court Judge Edgar Garvilles yesterday sentenced an electrician and his son-in-law to life imprisonment for the sale of illegal drugs.

Sentenced were Alfredo Prado of Caloocan and his son-in-law Antonio Palina of Sagay City.

The two were nabbed for selling four sachets containing 14.09 grams of shabu to PO3 Charlie Sebastian of the Bacolod City Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group at the entrance of the Ayala North subdivision on May 18, 2005, Talisay Prosecutor Benjamin Maido said.

Maido, the prosecutor of the case, said the two suspects were nabbed by the police as money for the shabu was being handed to them.

The deal for the purchase of the drugs was made the day before at a mall in Bacolod City, Maido said.

The police then set up a buy-bust plan that led to the arrest of the two the next day, he added.

The police placed cut-out paper in between two P500 bills for the buy bust operation, Maido said.

Garvilles said Prado and Palina will serve their life sentences in the national penitentiary in Muntinlupa.*CPG
