Sagay registry office
wins national award

The Sagay City Local Civil Registry Office won first place in the delivery of services from January to December last year, in the large category national level, given by the National Statistics Office, a press release from Sagay said.

Head of LCRO Gloria de los Reyes received the award at the 5th National Convention of Solemnizing Officers held at the Atrium, Betsai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.

Mayor Alfredo Maraņon Jr. lauded the efforts of the LCRO staff. De los Reyes also thanked Maraņon and Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Ceuva for their support to the civil registration pograms, the press release added.*

K of C officers installed

The Knights of Columbus of the Triumph of the Holy Cross Council No. 11579, recently held the installation of officers at the Nuestra Sra. de Regle Shrine, Camingawan, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.

Installed were treasurer Quirico Yusay Jr., chancellor Jose Ealdama, district warden Orlando dela Rosa, chaplain Fr. Antonio Garin, grand knight Rene Perono, district deputy Pablito Bacong Jr., and warden Serafin Bermudez trustee Joel Garcia, financial secretary Roberto Lavapiez, Romulo Gaduyon, Donie Dela Cruz, recorder Roy Penaflorida, Federico Dequilla, Rene Tamayo, advocate Jacinto Aranez, trustee Joel Gonzales, incoming grand knight Johnny Perez, lecturer Victor Granada and trustee Fred Empio, the press release added.*

Kapuso stars
join MassKara

It will be an exciting and explosive weekend in Bacolod City as GMA Network brings its brightest and hottest Kapuso Stars to join Bacolod's famous and colorful MassKara Festival, a press release from the network said.

Dennis Trillo, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes lead the pack of Kapuso Stars for one unforgettable festival everyone should not miss.

A Kapuso Night tomorrow will kick-off the series of events with heartthrob Dennis Trillo leading the cast. He will be joined by Eat Bulaga host Pauleen Luna and Paolo Ballesteros.

Dennis and Paolo are evening primetime Telebabad staples as they appear in the top-rating series Zaido.

Fun games, exciting prizes and thrilling production numbers await Bacoleņos on the Kapuso Night that will start at 4 p.m. at SM Bacolod's MassKara Village, the press release said.

The wacky, alternative rock band Parokya Ni Edgar is set to rock the night away as they share the stage with the Kapuso stars on this special evening.

On Saturday, the Zaido mall show with bingo will unfold at noon, at the SM Entertainment Center. Blue Zaido (Dennis Trillo) shares the spotlight with Yda (Paolo Ballesteros).

Everyone is invited to this extravaganza which boasts of exclusive Zaido screenings, big cash prizes in thrilling games, a Bingo Black Out game, and a chance to meet and greet the Kapuso Stars on the Telebabad Block, the press release said.

On Sunday, Marimar fever hits Bacolod as Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes head the weekend cast.

As a fitting cap to the three-day GMA series of activities, a special screening of Marimar at the SM Entertainment Center will be held, the press release added.*

10 vie for Miss Teen crown

Ten Bacoleņas will vie for the 2007 Miss Teen MassKara crown tomorrow at the BAYS Center in Bacolod City, which starts at 7 p.m.

They are Charmaine Seron, Beverly Peraren, Deneece Eliz Arianne Ditchon, Resa May Saga, Emma Grace Muleta, Ruby Aliguin, Giesa Sarrosa, Jane Angeli Cuyoca, Lara Hepper and Edma Joy Apostol.

Peraren and Saga, both 16 years old and Apostol, 14, are students of the Negros Occidental High School; Seron, 16, is a second year student of the Luisa Medel National High School; and Cuyoca, 15, is a student of the Bacolod City National High School.

Ditchon, 14, is a student of Megumi Academy; Muleta, 15, is from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos; Aliguin, 17- Capitol Institute of Technicians; Sarrosa, 17 - La Consolacion College, and Hepper, 17 - University of St. La Salle.*CGS
