Palm Sunday sights

BUDDAI

I heard mass last Palm Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Bacolod Cathedral Shrine, with the hope that it will not be so crowded, but I was wrong. It was overflowing with churchgoers. I was very lucky that somebody offered me a seat.

It was a sight to see the waving of the palm fronds inside and outside the Cathedral. On Palm Sunday, we celebrated the triumphant return of Jesus to Jerusalem. The schedules for the week were announced and posted at the entrance of the church, as well as the schedule of confession and novena mass for Divine Mercy that will start on April 6.

Last Tuesday, retired Judge Alfredo “Fred” Hilario celebrated his 76th birthday at his rest house called Ruby Center. With him was his lovely wife, Luz, who is a retired official of the Commission on Elections in Negros Occidental. They have three children who are all married. The eldest, Angie, is in London, with three kids; April, a physical therapist in Maryland; and GT, who works at the MTCC Branch in the Hall of Justice.

Present at celebration were retired judges and employees of the court. They followed the same pattern, walking in the morning and late in the afternoon, enjoying moments with the grandchildren, and going to church every day.

Everybody had a nice time reminiscing on their days in the Hall of Justice. To Judge Hilario, God bless and  continuous good health to you.

Remember: A prayer is the best armour against all trials. A heart-to-heart talk with Jesus will lessen our burden, for He will always bless those who believe in His name.*
