Reflect, pray – officials urge
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday called on Negrenses and Bacoleños to take time to reflect on Christ love and pray during the long Holy Week break.

The official Holy Week holidays begin tomorrow when offices and most business establishments shut down as the nation commentates Christ’s dying on the cross to save mankind.

Marañon is urging Negrenses to pray for peace and goodwill, to reflect, and ask God for guidance and discernment.

Let us also thank the Lord for sparing Negros Occidental from recent calamities, said the governor, who also said he is going on a Holy Week retreat.

Leonardia said "Let us take time to reflect. In silence so much can be learned."

“Holy Week is the time when we are all given a chance to break away from routine and our daily chores to reflect on the more spiritual side of life, which is so essential,” he added.*CPG
