Cops nab 2 for drugs
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Two more suspects were arrested for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002, in the cities of Silay and Talisay, Negros Occidental, police records show.

Suspected drug peddler Wilfredo Leyen was arrested Saturday by the police during a buy-bust operation at Figueroa Street in Brgy. 3, Silay City, police chief Supt. Rosauro Francisco said.

Francisco said the arrest of Leyen, alias Canoy, 30, yielded five sachets of suspected shabu estimated to have a market value of P1,200 and P300 in marked money.

The arrest of Leyen brought to more than 60 the suspects engaged in drug peddling activities who were accounted for by the police in Silay City, since last year, police records also showed.

Supt. Joseph Thomas Martir reported the arrest of a certain Jestoni Altamera in Brgy. Zone 16, Talisay City, for having six suspected marijuana cigarettes and dried marijuana leaves on April 4.* GPB
