2,326 seek
extension of visas

The Bureau of Immigration and Deportation Bacolod Field Office has recorded a total of 2,326 application for visa extension as of March 31, 2012.

Bacolod Alien Control Officer Mita Chuvy Arguilles said that of the total 2,326 application for visa extension, about 1,444 are Koreans and the rest are Americans, Japanese and other nationalities.

Foreign students who have applied for special study permits are also mostly Koreans who are studying English in Bacolod City, she said.

As of March 31,they have issued special study permits to 6,090foreign students, mostly Koreans, two Japanese, while the rest are Taiwanese and Chinese, Arguilles said.

She also reminded foreigners living in Negros Occidental to pay their annual registration for 2012 to avoidpaying penalties.*CGS
