The Lord is risen!
BY MSGR. VICENTE M. NAVARRA

During the season of the Lent I greeted you in the Spirit of the Lord and our Holy Mother the Church. So now, the Easter time, I greet you, one and all with the triumphant rejoicing of the angels and the Elect in heaven: The Lord is risen!

Yes, such a burst of rejoicing can only came from minds and hearts that have experienced the purifying process of Lent, that teaches to live simply through the generous giving-up of what is extravagant and superfluous; Lent that teaches to live soberly through a loving and compassionate sharing of ourselves of what we have to others and to the community, although this can really hurt us.

Yes, the Lord is truly risen. And we are also risen with Him if truly we can say that the empty tomb of our profligate life is now filled with God and His values; if our neighbor and the common good rank first in our priorities; if we have learned to love ourselves as God love us!

Happy Easter to all today and everyday!
