Christ is risen. Let us rejoice and be glad and sing Alleluia. From Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday and until Easter Sunday, we all had the time to pray and ask for forgiveness for our sins to the Risen Christ. He is a forgiving God.

Last Easter Sunday, Most Reverend Vicente Navarra marked the golden jubilee of his priesthood, at the La Proa Ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel, through the ‘Lunch for a Cause’. It was aimed at generating funds for the Domus Dei Complex and its ongoing projects such as a shrine and retreat house, the daily operation and maintenance of the building, for the needs of the elderly, sick, and retired priests. This is one of the charities of Bishop Navarra.

As part of the anniversary celebration, the “Project Tsinelas” was held at the Bays Center, chaired by Fr. Jude Serfino, in coordination with the Apostolate by Divine Mercy, B.E.C., PPC and PFC. Donors of the project were Korina Sanchez, Mayor Guia Gomez, Vice President Jejomar Binay and local benefactors in Bacolod City.

Almost 3,000 rubber slippers were distributed to children in areas near the San Sebastian Shrine and other parishes of the Diocese. A thanksgiving mass was officiated by Fr. Jude, picture-taking, games, singing and dancing and sharing of packed lunches took place.

It was a very rewarding and happy moment for all the children. It was one special occasion when I joined in watching them enjoying the day.
