Jobless man nabbed
for raping niece

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A 27-year-old jobless man was apprehended by the police for allegedly raping his 9-year-old niece at their residence in Victorias City, Negros Occidental Sunday.

The victim, whose name the police withheld, said her uncle raped her at about 6:45 a.m. Friday while her parents were not around, Victorias City police chief, Supt. Alexander Muñoz said.

Muñoz said that the victim’s mother learned that her daughter had been raped when she saw her daughter’s sex organ bleeding while they were about to sleep at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

He said the victim has undergone a medical examination and the result showed that she had indeed been raped.

The victim also told the police that it was the first time that her uncle raped her. The suspect, meanwhile, did not comment on the accusations when asked by ABS-CBN.

Muñez said the victim’s parents have already executed a complaint affidavit and charges for rape in relation to child abuse will be filed against the suspect before the Victorias City prosecutor’s office today.*APN
