Septuagenarian
found dead in Tanjay

Police are investigating the death of a septuagenarian, who was found dead about 5.p.m on Good Friday, in sitio Candanque, Barangay Azagra, in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.

The Tanjay City police identified the fatality as Hermenigildo Torres, 76, widower, and a resident of Candanque. Millard Boloron, also of the sitio, found the victim’s body slumped on the ground beside the road, police records added.

Recovered from the victim’s body were a wristwatch, a pair of slippers, cash, and candies.

A postmortem examination by City Health Officer Virginia Cadili also showed that Torres had a gunshot wound on his head.*JFP
