3-day bridal fair set

The Wedding and Event Planners Organization of Negros Inc. will again organize the yearly bridal fair titled "Destination Weddings", at Robinsons Place Bacolod fountain area, tomorrow until April 15, a press release from the mall said.

The event will feature wedding and event suppliers, a bridal fashion show of bridal shops in Bacolod City April 12, and a designer's night on April 15, with the latest bridal masterpieces of pioneer local designers Lino Ramos, Jim Makani, John-John Ditching and Tony de Ramos, the press release added.

Organizers are inviting soon-to-be married couples to attend the three-day activity, the press release also said.*

‘Disco Nation’ on Saturday

‘ “Disco Nation, the 80s Party” fever will hit Bacolod City April 14, starting at 8 p.m., a press release from organizers said.

Popular songs of the 80s from movies like “Just Got Lucky”; the worldwide dance craze “Moonwalk” by pop icon Michael Jackson, Madonna’s “Material World”, and “End of the World”, are some of the music expected to be played by disc jockey Jon Tupaz with mixes from other DJs, at Club Sibeeria, the press release added.

In the 80s, Bacolod City was also known as a disco spot. Now, it’s for clubbing and night-outing, with the presence of bars in almost all corners of the city. Some Bacoleños also never got over the 80s music genre and party settings. From the memories of “Spectrum” to “Guess Disco” and “Volare” to “Quorum”, people love to rekindle precious moments and escapades and associate them with music, the press release also said.*

Bacolod Christian churches
hold Easter Sunday worship

The 13th annual joint Easter Sunrise worship celebration by the Bacolod East

Christian churches, was held at Lopue’s East parking lot at 4 a.m., a press release from organizers said.

The resurrection message was delivered by Fr. Francis Neil Jalandoon on the theme “Rejoice…Christ is alive!” Jalandoon, of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, is the associate pastor of the University Church, CPU, in Iloilo City, the press release said.

The celebration was spearheaded by the Bacolod Bethany Church, Royal Meadows and Cosmopolitan Evangelical Church, and Malaspina, the press release said.

Pastor Felipe Villamin Jr. gathered the congregation for the celebration of praise; Fr. Lovell Clavel gave the words of welcome and benediction; pastor Gil Fernandez did the invocation; pastor Arnel Macitas read the scripture; and pastor Albert Mark Java introduced the guest speaker; while pastor Allan Castigador led in the offertory prayer with Anthony Derayunan, who was the worship leader, the press release added.*
