Australian prima ballerina to
give exams in Bacolod today

Christine Walsh, a prima ballerina from Australia, and the director of the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet, will be in Bacolod City today, to give an examination to students of the Dance Pull School of Performing Arts—Bacolod, and the Spotlight Dance Studio of Cebu City, a press release from organizers said.

The ACB training and examination program emphasizes correct placement, dynamics and performing quality that are qualities inherent in the Vaganova method, the press release added.

It aims to develop a professional attitude among students, to assist them in the pursuit of a career, either as a professional dancer or a teacher. The press release said the program is also for ballet teachers, who have understanding of constructing general open classes, and not just teaching from a syllabus manual.

The program is used by teachers in Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Japan. Many of the ACB’s students, meanwhile, have been dancing ballet in companies based in Australia, Europe, USA and Asia, the press release added.*
