BBC/Amazing ’09 eyes another win
in USLS Alumni/LNA 7 basketball

Tournament leader and powerhouse squad Bacolod Basketball Club /Amazing 09 will be gunning for another victory tonight when it clashes against Batch 2007-2010, hoping to extend its winning streak tonight in the second round of the elimination of the 4th University of St. La Salle Alumni Association/LNA7 Sports Foundation Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

Game starts at 7:30 p.m.

Despite of a long break from the hardcourt, BBC/Amazing ’09 is expected to go out offensively focused behind its three-guard combination of Sammy Belangel, Nico Lopingco and Timothy Dumancas while Derek Sibug and Philip Abong will be manning the shaded area.

It will not be an easy assignment though for BBC as Batch 2007-2010 is also expected to play hard to stay in the contention after suffering a heartbreaking 88-87 loss to Batch 2001/1994/1995/Strollers last Monday.

During BBC last game against Batch 2008/Shakey’s where they scored a favorable 97-85, Belangel led their offense with 18 points as Nico Lopingco shot 15 points, while Dumancas hit 9 and Fifi Sayson with 10 points.

A notable deadly BBC backcourt arsenal allowed inside operators Sibug and Abong to control the shaded area and get away 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Out to challenge BBC tonight will be Batch 2007-2010 reliable frontliners led by Japhet Cua who is expected to play another huge game after last tallying 20 points, including 3 triples, in their loss against the Strollers.

Also expected to duplicate his last game’s performance is Dominic Acosta, who scored 18 points, all coming from the rainbow territory.

Semifinals will be on April 27.*with a report from WNU Sports Office
