Two more suspected drug peddlers were arrested by the police and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Tuesday and Wednesday in the cities of Silay and San Carlos, Negros Occidental.
A team of police intelligence operatives led by SPO1 Rayjay Rebadomia arrested Ronald de la Cruz, alias Budi, during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in Brgy. 1, Silay City.
Supt. Rosauro Francisco, Silay police chief, yesterday said the arrest of de la Cruz yielded three sachets of suspected shabu and P300 in marked money.
A day earlier, a combined team of policemen and PDEA operatives led by Inspector Roman Salazar Jr and Intelligence Officer Aline Cimafranca, also arrested Erwin Siaboc for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002, in Brgy. 1, San Carlos City.
Supt. Harold Tuzon, San Carlos police chief, said the arrest of Siaboc, 38, also yielded six sachets of suspected shabu, P120 in cash and a black canister.
Police, meanwhile, also filed charges for violation of RA 9165 against Eduardo Sale Sr. ,alias Mitoy, 52, who was arrested last week in Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, for illegal possession of prohibited drugs.
The arrest of Sale yielded P9,000 worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves, P100 in marked money and P125 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of prohibited drugs.
Francisco said the recovered dried marijuana leaves from the possession of Sale weighed 17.91 grams, based on examinations by the PNP Crime Laboratory.*GPB
