Sipalay boxers eye gold in
Panaad boxing tourney

Boxing talents in Negros Occidental are emerging everywhere with Sipalay City producing its own future champions as four young pugilists from the city advanced to the finals of the 19 th Panaad sa Negros Festival Boxing Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

The surge from southern Negros is led by Sipalaynon Albino Tihuk, who will slug it out against Jeffrey Concerman of Talisay City in 51 kgs. today.

Also aiming for the gold are his teammates Allan Vallespin and Dave Padilla. Vallespin will face Rogie Nardo of Escalante City in 54 kgs., while Padilla will be challenged by Arnold Jetajobe of Sagay in 45 kgs.

Also booking a seat in the finals are San Carlos City's Michael Domingo, who will clash against John Lorence Cueva of Talisay City in the 38 kgs; J.R Raquenel of Cauayan versus Junril Casiple of Don Salvador Benedicto in 40 kgs; Ernesto Alera of Murcia against Aljun Andung of Sagay in 42 kgs; and Arnel Villavicencio of Don Salvador Benedicto against Elmer Liboon of Murcia in 48 kgs; and Ernesto Ibanez of Escalante City versus Jose Epacleo Campos of Cauayan in 57 kgs.

Earlier, James Carlo Calago was declared champion in 60 kilograms after beating Talisay City 's Rufino Talha via Referee Stop Contest (RSC-outclass) 20 seconds in the second round of the 60 kilograms.

In the women's 45 kgs, the title will be contested by Roxanne Alisna of Don Salvador Benedicto and Mary May Panto of San Carlos City, while while Lyka Patoc will face Marjorie Condes in the 38 kgs.*NAB
