Sipalay boxers eye gold in
Panaad boxing tourney

Boxing talents in Negros Occidental are emerging everywhere with Sipalay City producing its own future champions as four young pugilists from the city advanced to the finals of the 19 th Panaad sa Negros Festival Boxing Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

The surge from southern Negros is led by Sipalaynon Albino Tihuk, who will slug it out against Jeffrey Concerman of Talisay City in 51 kgs. today.

Also aiming for the gold are his teammates Allan Vallespin and Dave Padilla. Vallespin will face Rogie Nardo of Escalante City in 54 kgs., while Padilla will be challenged by Arnold Jetajobe of Sagay in 45 kgs.

Bacolod woodpushers
win in inter-LGU tilt

Bacolod Team A, bannered by its veteran age-group campaigners, dominated the 17-below in both boys and girls categories.

Pontevedra came out a surprise winner in the below 13 boys category and Talisay City and in the 13 below girls category in the 19th Panaad sa Negros chess tournament.

Karen Joy Anoran lead Bacolod A to win the gold medal on Board 1 and teammate Marjorie Bustamante settled for silver on Board 2 in below 17 girls' category.

SJI to hold Amazing Race

An exciting and fun-filled day awaits the St. John's Institute community as SJI Alumni Association holds its 3 rd Amazing Race at the SJI Ayala Campus in Talisay City .

Twelve alumni batches are joining the race, a press release from the school said.

Also taking part in the competition are the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Junior Chamber and the SJI Faculty. The race will showcase the strength, versatility and sportsmanship of the participants.
