Sipalay pugs rule
Panaad boxing tilt

Winning five gold medals in the final day, including one from the women’s division, Sipalay City dominated the 19th Panaad Sa Negros Boxing Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Sipalay also grabbed one silver medal and a bronze to emerge as the dominant force in the five-day boxing competition among the local government units in the province.

Leading the surge for Sipalay was Charlie Calago, who tamed John Paul Evangelista of Murcia in 26 kgs., while Albino Tihuk beat his foe from Talisay City in 51 kgs.

Allan Vallespin added another gold to Sipalay’s haul by prevailing over Escalante City’s Rogie Nardo, while teammate James Carlo Calago knocked out Bagoeño Adrian Lorca in the first of their 60 kgs. bout.

 Sagay and Escalante cities had three gold medals in the tournament, while San Carlos City and Cauayan town collected two gold medals each. Don Salvador Benedicto, Valladolid, and Bago had one gold medal each.*NAB
