Cadiz top grosser
at Panaad fest

Cadiz City was declared the top grosser local government units with total sales of P739,663.25 at the trade fair and exhibit of the Technology and Livelihood Development Center of the 19th Panaad Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City yesterday, for the third consecutive year.

The Cadiz delegation received P20,000 and trophy.

Based on the criteria of the Panaad Festival Trade and exhibit committee, an LGU must have gross sales of at least P500,000 or above to be declared the top grosser.

The city of San Carlos and the towns of Calatrava and Moises Padilla were the three top grossers after Cadiz City with total sales of P562,358, P331,318, and P303.029 respectively. Each LGU received P20,000 cash and a trophy, Gerard Tupas, committee chair, said.

Meanwhile, the Best Product for Home Furnishings category was the Price Loyd Chair of Noel Dominic Gomez of San Carlos City, while the Four- Seater Dining Table of Ramil Iniego of Pulupandan, and the Swing with Mini Bar of Gerry Gerndoy of Calatrava were named second and third placers respectively.

The Best Product for Home Accessories category was the Coco Fish of Joshua Bico of Bago City, while the second and third places went to the Woodturn Platter with Stand of Yul Leonor of Calatrava and Cane Delivery Truck of Rogelio Vasquez Sr. of Talisay City.

The Best Product for Personal Accessories category was the jewelry designed by Jay Costanilla of San Carlos City, while the Coco Coin Purse of Nathaniel Luis Perater was second, and the Wooden Handbag with Clutch bag of Dr. Pearle Pagunsan of Binalbagan, was in third.

All Best Product winners received P25,000 and trophies while the second and third placers received P20,000 and P15,000 and trophies respectively.

For the Specialty Food category the Best New Product was the Coco Sweets of Sylvanna Baldomero of La Carlota City, Best Innovative Product was the Squid Curls with Malunggay of Baldomero Soberano of Sagay City, and the Best Market Potential was the Taro Chips of Maradula Entrepreneurs Association of Talisay City. They all received P20,000 cash and trophies.

MORE AWARDS

The Design Excellence Awardees were Gomez, Bico, and Costanilla for designing their products for home furnishings, home accessories, and personal accessories. The winners each received P25,000 cash and trophy.

The Sabor Negrense Special Awards for the Producers were the products of Baldomero, Soberano, and MIA and they each received P20,000 cash and trophy.

Sagay City was named Best Destination Pavillion, the Grand Slam Award to Silay City while the Best Float during the festival went to 2GO business company. *LTG
