Two suspects in murder and rape cases were apprehended Friday by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and policemen in Calatrava and Bago City, Negros Occidental, police report sais.
Silvestre Abeso,54, was nabbed by CIDG operatives led by Chief Inspector Cresenciano Cordero Jr. at his residence in Brgy. Dolis, Calatrava, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by San Carlos Regional Trial Court Judge Kathrine Go, for the crime of murder.
Cordero said Abeso, who was reportedly linked to other incidents of murder and allegedly being used by some local politicians, was denied bail by Go.
Abeso is now detained at the Calatrava Police Station Jail.
Supt. Simeon Gane also reported the apprehension of Alano de Pedro, 21, in Brgy. Ilijan, Bago City, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Frances Guanzon for the crime of rape.
Gane, who is the Bago police chief, said de Pedro was also denied bail by Judge Go.
By virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Silay RTC Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio, policemen also apprehended Ana Acallar,54, at the corner of Burgos and Bonifacio Streets in Silay City, for the crime of estafa by false pretenses.
Supt. Rosauro Francisco, Silay police chief, said Trocio has recommended P16,000 bail for the release of Acallar.* GPB back
