Retailers group cuts LPG
prices by P1/kilo

MANILA – Independent retailers of liquefied petroleum gas yesterday slashed product prices by P1 per kilo.

LPG Marketers Association Party-List Representative Arnel Ty said that the P1 rollback would translate into a P11-markdown per tank since a regular cylinder of LPG weighs 11 kilos.

“We have a P1 per kilo LPG rollback today and some members will start implementing it. The others will do so after a few days,” said Ty.

Asked why the group chose to stagger its price cuts instead of enforcing a “one-time, big time” adjustment, Ty said they are “advancing the price rollbacks.”

The latest price cut was made to reflect the lower contract prices this month.

The LPGMA had earlier implemented separate P2-per-kilo price reductions on April 9, while P1-per-kilo price reductions on March 28 and March 19.

As of April 9, the suggested retail price of cooking gas from LPG-member brands stood between P700 and P725.*PNA
