The United Coconut Planters Bank and the Coco Industry Investment Fund have decided to enroll 10 of their scholars at the Negros Oriental State University for academic year 2012-2013.
This was after Henzel Mae Ymbol, a UCPB-CIIF scholar who took up Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at NORSU, graduated summa cum laude recently. Ymbol is from San Juan in Siquijor Island, a press release from the Foundation said.
Edgardo Amistad, president of the UCPB-CIIF Foundation, has written to NORSU president Henry Sojor, saying that the school's “advocacy for excellence has guided Ymbol to strive for the highest academic performance as well as hone her leadership skills”.
The Coco Foundation has 100 scholars in 10 colleges and universities in the country in the first school semester. The beneficiaries are children of coconut farmers.*RG
