Class ’82 wins NOHS bowlfest

Class ’82 won the title in Bracket A, and Class ’70 and Batch ’95 in Brackets B and C of the Negros Occidental High School General Alumni Homecoming Bowlfest For Unity 2012 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The Bracket A consolation prize went to Batch ’67 led by King Tan, while the Mavericks of Celso Serfino and Batch ’91 led by Glenn Blanco also grabbed the consolation prize in Bracket B and C.

Mae Trayfalgar led the Class ’82 bowlers in beating Edgar Baldonado’s Class ’66 in the final match, 519-498 after yielding in their first encounter, 513-508.

The members of the winning team were Trayfalgar, Azela Tejada, Cesar Sumaylo, Edwin Sarcepuedes, Joether Fernandez, Glenn Salanap, Erlan Menesses, Ann Dayot, Joemarie Biasca, Jean Guiritan, Felix Amante and George Sarsuelo.

Class ’73 presided by Edwin Dormitorio settled for second runner-up after bowing to perennial rival Class ’66.

Batch ’97 placed third runner-up in the Bracket A.

In category B, it was the first title for Class ’70 after placing first runner-up in the same tournament last year.

The Class B champion were Bonnie Ta-ala, Vita de Paula, Joe De Leon, Bob Bollon, Alex Aurelio, Gemoto Santiago and Nonito Cabrera.

Class ’70 won over Class ’71 headed by Leah Uy in the deciding contest, 511-507. Uy won the first game in the finals, , 499-495.

Batch ’85 led d by Iran Pielago and Class ’80 handled by Julian Raca were second and third runners-up.

Batch ’95 led by Essho Garcia was the winner in category C department winning over the younger 2000-Up Combined piloted by Peter John Biasca, 492-487.

Batch 2000 will face the the twice-to-beat Garcia, Stephen Dormido, Yen Gepana, Daisy Alulod, Jamil Garces, Cheryl Bacay, and Bonifacio Balonton.

The awarding of prizes to the winners will be on from January to December last year April 27 at the NOHS Alumni Hall. *HLG
