The 2nd Congressman/Mayor Ferrer Pasalamat Tennis Tournament starts today in La Carlota City with top honors in five categories to be contested by the participating teams, a press release from organizers said.

The competition will be until April 26 with a side event, the Men’s Open Singles Tournament, to be played on April 19 to 21.

To be contested in the main competition are the titles in Men’s Class A 35-above Doubles, Men’s Class B Doubles, Men’s Class C Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Women’s Doubles, the press release said.

Prizes at stake are P2,500 for Men’s Singles semi-finalist; P5,000 for Men’s Singles runner-up; P10,000 for Men’s Singles Champion and P20,000 for Team Champion.

The screening committee for this year’s tournament is composed of Atet Guba, Dr. Rex Ja+landoon, Ramy Jalandoon, Yokyok Estember, lerecson Baran, Boy Jimenez, Bong Arguelles, Nene Sagansay and Ben Sombilona, the press release said.*
