needed abroad

Personnel of two overseas recruitment agencies will be at the Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City today and next week to recruit nurses and domestic helpers for Taiwan and Middle East countries, Moises de la Cruz, PESO manager said yesterday.

De la Cruz said the representatives of Placewell International needs nurses and skilled workers for Middle East countries and they have an initial interview at the Government Center today while Gerdin Agency is scheduled to have its initial interviews on April 26 and 27 at PESO.

Gerdin Agency needs domestic helpers, caretakers, and factory workers in Taiwan.

Applicants have to bring their resumes, passports, transcripts of records, and training and employment certificates.

Meanwhile, a PESO employment report showed that it has deployed 2,700 laborers and job orders in Bacolod City and 294 workers abroad.

Most of the jobs filled abroad were for service crew personnel, domestic helpers, welders, nurses, and waiters. Overseas jobs were channeled through nine recruitment agencies that participated in the February job fairs of PESO.

The agencies were Placewell International, GM Motors, Aqua Gem, EastWest International, Lead Resources Management Corporation, Omanfil, Blazing Star Manpower Services, and Pisces International Placement. *LTG
