Fourteen academic offerings of Silliman University have received the highest accreditation distinction from two independent private accrediting associations, a press release from the school said.
Level IV accredited status was granted to seven graduate degrees by the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities-Accrediting Agency Inc. for April 2012 to April 2016, while seven undergraduate programs got their equivalent Level IV accreditation status from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities, it said.
The seven graduate programs are the Masters of Art in English, History, and Sociology; Master in Public Administration, Masters of Science in Nursing, and Psychology; and the Master of Science in Social Work. The undergraduate degrees include the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Mass Communication, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Secondary Education and Elementary Education, the press release added.
The Level IV accreditation status is the highest recognition of an academic program's strength on its curriculum, facilities, faculty, linkages, and the extent to which a school or university is able to carry out the tri-focal function of instruction, research and extension, the press release also said.
Meanwhile, SU will be offering the degree of Master in Peace Studies starting the 2012-2013 academic year.
