3rd ‘Brainsbee'
competition to kick off May

The 3 rd “Brainsbee ni Albee sa District 3” will kick off in May with simultaneous qualifying examinations in the barangay level, a press release from the Office of Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) said yesterday.

From May 2 to 11, elementary and high school students residing in any of the 115 barangays in Murcia, E. B. Magalona towns and in the cities of Talisay, Silay, and Victorias are urged to join the written qualifying examination. Top scorers will be elevated to the city or town level of the competition, the press release added.

A cash prize of P30,000 awaits the District champions, in both the elementary and secondary levels. Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Thea Mae Dino, president of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, o announced that a laptop will be given to each of the District winners, the press release said.

Winners in the city and town finals will get P15,000, and their coaches, schools and barangays will also receive prizes, the press release also said.

“Brainsbee” is open to bonafide residents of the 3rd District, must be in Grade 5 or 6 or in 3 rd year or 4 th year high school for 2011-2012, in any public or private school in the province. High school graduates last March may also join.
