eyes 9th straight win

Hoping to extend its winning streak and stay unbeaten in the tournament, BBC/Amazing '09 shoots for its 9 th victory tonight when it clashes against Batch 2003/2004/Martha in the 4 th University of St. La Salle Alumni/LNA7 Sports Foundation Basketball Tournament at the West Negros Gym.

Amazing '09 will be riding high on the consistent performance of shooter Marco Avecilla, who led the team to victory against Batch 2007-10 in their 7 th game, and the firepower of Nico Lopingco, who keyed the victory against Batch 1992/19996/2005 Pooh Spa JMCA.

It will be a tough assignment for the tournament leader, as Martha hopes to snatch its 6 th win in eight outings and share the No. 2 spot with Batch 2008/ Shakey's.

Jast streaks past JSY, 84-71

Jast Enterprises thumped an undermanned JSY Transport, 84-71, while Organic Solutions clawed back from a double digit deficit to upstage Basecom, 72-68, in Class B of the 2012 Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 1st Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Playing with only six players, JSY Transport managed to keep up with Jast in the first quarter, with the score tied at 22-all, but a third quarter explosion from Jast prevented JSY Transport from snatching the win.

Jast twin towers, Brian Javelosa and Ralph Ong, spelled the difference in the second quarter as they delivered 9 and 6 points, respectively, to allow Jast a 47-33 lead at halftime.

PFF Football Caravan

Five football teams carrying the banner of Talisay City's Minuluan squad captured the championship in their respective divisions during the PFF Football Caravan 2012 recently at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College pitch in Talisay City.

Minuluan teams dominated the 10 Under category, 14 Under, 18 Under, Ladies Open, and 16 Under Girls against teams coming from different clubs in Negros Occidental and Oriental, Iloilo , and Luzon .

After Bracket A in the 10 Under eliminations, Minuluan A went on to beat St. John's Institute, 2-0, in the final match to bag the championship. Other participating teams were Southridge A, B, and C,
