Ibuna starts
advocacy for women
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Businesswoman Grace Ibuna, partner of the late Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ., 5 th District), yesterday said she is taking on an advocacy to help women and children in crisis rebuild their lives.

“I want them to know that they can move forward after a crisis, and make a go of their lives,” she said.

While there are laws that protect women and children from abuse, those who have undergone it need help and therapy to overcome their trauma, she said.

She said she will push for centers to help those in need and to make therapy available to cope with a crisis or a loss.

Although she is perceived to be strong, after the death of Rep, Arroyo on January 26 she has felt so lost, in the first three weeks she did not even want to get out o bed and spent most of the time weeping, Ibuna said.

“I have been a perky person, I have not known depression until now, a part of me died with Iggy”, said Ibuna, who was in Bacolod City Friday.*CPG
