Resort celebrates fiesta
The Sta. Fe Resort in Bacolod City will celebrate its “Nuesta Señora De la Paz” annual fiesta on May 2 to 6 with hack fights, cock derby, and the blessing of its new facility, the Casa Alicia Building, a press release from the resort said.
The celebration will also highlight carnival games and rides, magic show, age group swimming competition, yard sale booths, and the 2nd Mario S. Villanueva Sr. Memorial Shooting Cup at the CNSA shooting range, the press release said.
The five-day celebration will give more fun and excitement and a chance for the resort to showcase its amenities and facilities, the press release added.*

Olmedo exhibit on May 5
The heirs of the late Filipino visual artist Luis “Onib” Olmedo will mount an exhibition called “75 years: Celebrating Onib Olmedo”, at the Italia Restaurant in Bacolod City, at 5 p.m. on May 5, a press release from organizers said.
The exhibit will showcase 15 works on paper that include the artist’s ink washes, together with his pastels, charcoals, graphites and pens and inks. Olmedo, who would have been 75 this year, died in 1996 at the peak of his career. He was considered the pioneer of figurative expressionism, and an important Philippine visual artist of the 20th century, the press release added.
Bacolod, home to many discerning art collectors in the Visayas, has been selected as the first leg of a multi-city national and international tour, in keeping with the wishes of the Olmedo family, the press release said.

Summer activities up in mall
A series of activities for the summer will be held at SM City Bacolod, a press release from the mall said.
These are the Zumba summer fitness every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., that started yesterday until June 2; a lyrical dance acts, April 27 and 28, at 5 p.m.; a mall tour of singer and TV host Karylle, April 29 at 4 p.m.; and an acoustics night every weekend of May, starting at 6 p.m., the press release added.* back to top
