A fishpond worker went to Police Station 1 in Bacolod City yesterday to clear his name after he was implicated as a suspect in the P3.6 million heist at the Central Negros Electric Cooperative in the city in March.
Richard Seding Daguman, 30, of Tambulig town, Zamboanga del Sur said he was surprised to receive a subpoena on April 14 from the Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office informing him that he is one of the suspects in the robbery at CENECO
Daguman stressed that he is innocent of the charges and that he was never involved in any crime in their place. He said he will file his counter affidavit on the robbery-in-band charges against him through his legal counsel and will furnish copies to the CENECO management.
James Daguman, his uncle and acting legal adviser, said he coordinated with his colleague in a fraternity who is residing in Bacolod City so they can clear the name of his nephew.
He said they already went to fiscal Therise Blanche Bolunia and that she is convinced that the person charged for robbery-in-band in relation to the CENECO robbery, and his nephew are not the same, although she told them that she cannot decide on the matter yet.
City Police Director Ricardo de la Paz told the DAILY STAR that the person they charged and Richard Seding Daguman do not look the same.
De la Paz said the robbery charges they filed was against a certain Richard Cadungog Dag-uman from Ozamis City and not against Richard Seding Daguman, who received the subpoena.
The City police director added that when the CENECO robbery took place, the city police sent pictures of the suspects to police stations in the country and that Senior Supt. Michael Palermo of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, replied to them and provided them the names.*APN
