Strollers out to halt
BBC’s winning streak

Batch 1994/1995/2001 Strollers might just pull off an upset tonight as it battles tournament leader Bacolod Basketball Club/Amazing ’09 in the last round of the eliminations in the 4th University of St. La Salle Alumni Association/LNA7 Sports Foundation Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

After absorbing its 6th loss in the tournament at the hands of 1992/19996/2005/Pooh Spa JMCA last week, Strollers hope to improve its standing before the quarterfinals unfold next week.

It will be a tall task for the Strollers to get past the undefeated BBC/Amazing ’09 as the team is determined to sweep the eliminations and kept its record unblemished.

It will be more difficult for the Strollers to keep up with BBC as the team expects to get back the services of Marco Avecilla, Fifi Sayson and Vince Insoy after they missed their last game.

BBC also expects spitfire Amit Teruel to help more in the offense after an off night performance, Monday night.

To give BBC its first loss in the tournament, Strollers need more firepower from the bench to back up its main gunner SG Villeran, who has been playing consistently in their previous games.

Strollers need to strengthen its defense and improve its offense to bring BBC down.

In tonight’s other game, Batch 2007/2010 (2-7) will challenge Batch 2003/2004/Martha (5-3), with both squads eyeing to bounce back from previous setbacks.

While Martha bowed to BBC, Batch 2007/2010 got an 88-71 thrashing form Batch 2008/Shakey’s last week.

With height and speed on their side, Martha will be on the advantage while Batch 2007/2010 will have to polish their outside shooting guns.

After the eliminations, the top two teams in the tournament will automatically advance to the semifinals that will start on May 7, while the four remaining squads will contest the last two semis seats in the quarterfinals.*NAB
