The Organic Negros Producers and Retailers Association will host an eat-all-you-can organic style dinner today at the Organic na Kitchen, behind the Provincial Capitol Building, its president, Ramon Uy Jr. said yesterday.
Uy said the dinner is part of the local promotion of the province to showcase the certified and fresh products of the organic farmers of Negros Occidental, who are also members of association.
He said the organic market is now serving its customers with 90 percent organic food and only 10 percent are not certified products like the cooking oil, vinegar, and soy sauce.
Uy also said that the promotion will create awareness about eating healthy food. Organic products are also very helpful to people with diseases like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure because these products are not contaminated with chemicals from sprays and fertilizers, he claimed.
Bea Bachinela, ONOPRA executive director, said they may hold more promotional activities depending on the outcome of the launching.
The Magnum Opus band will entertain customers during the dinner and they will offer student rates for meals of those who present their identification cards, she said.
Bachinela also assured the public that organic products of local farmers go through tests before they are certified. *LTG
