Senior Insp. Dianne Aquitania will be the new commander of Police Station 4, effective Monday, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, director of the Bacolod City Police Office, said yesterday.
Aquitania will replace Supt. Leonardo Borromeo, who will assume as head of the BCPO Intelligence Branch, after a formal turn-over.
Borromeo replaced Chief Insp. Ulysses Ortiz, who was relieved after the P3.6 million robbery at the Central Negros Electric Cooperative in March this year.
De la Paz said he has instructed Aquitania to fully implement the Police Integrated Patrol System, and the “Operation Katawhayan sa Dalan” in the areas covered by Station 4, to deter crime incidents.
She was also ordered to work closely with the officials of the barangays covered by Station 4, like Villamonte, Estefania, 19 and 27, and coordinate with security officers of the subdivisions.
Aquitania is the second female police officer to be assigned to Station 4, under the leadership of De la Paz. Senior Insp. Leilani Garcia was relieved last year after a spate of unresolved crimes in the area, police records show.
“I saw in her (Aquitania) professionalism and she is capable and competent for the job”, de la Paz said.
Aquitania told the DAILY STAR she plans to improve police partnership with the force multipliers like the barangay intelligence network and tanods.
She will also meet with the barangay officials after her installation Monday so she will know their concerns.
Aquitania used to be assigned to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Firearms Explosives Security and Guards Section, and was the former chief of the Public Information Office of the Aklan Police Provincial Office.*APN back
