2 internments for Bro. Rolly

A portion of the cremated remains of Bro. Rolando Dizon will be interred at the De La Salle Brothers Memorial Cloister, La Salle Novitiate, Lipa City Sunday after a three day-wake at the National Shrine of the Divine Child, La Salle Green Hills, Mandaluyong City, A USLS press release said.

Another portion will be flown to Bacolod City on Monday and will remain at the Montelibano chapel, of the University of St. La Salle until May 5.

At 3 p.m. on May 5 a Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the Montelibano Chapel of the University of St. La salle in Bacolod to be followed by interment at the Dizon Family Mausoleum, at the Rolling Hills Memorial Park.

Dizon, 67, succumbed after an almost 10-year battle with colon cancer at the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in Dasmarines, Cavite, 7:09 p.m. April 25.

He was chairman of the Commission on Higher Education from 2003-2004, member of the Consultative Commission on Charter Change in 2005, and president of De La Salle University-Manila and the De La Salle University System (1998–2003).

He was also president of the University of St. La Salle and Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association in Bacolod, co-founder of the National Movement for Free Elections and had served as president of the medical institution he died in.

Daily masses for Dizon will be held at the Montelibano Chapel 6:30 p.m. with the following sponsors: April 30- Ramos-Dizon family and relatives, May 1- USLS Varsity Sports Officeand NOPSSCEA, May 2 - USLS Alumni, INSPA and Parents’-Teachers’ Council, May 3 - Balayan, Business Resource Center, IS Community Services Center and all community partners and sectoral organizations and May 4 -USLS Administration, Faculty, Staff and Students and St. Benilde School, the press release said.

Individuals who wish to give eulogies during these Masses may coordinate with the assigned sponsors, it said.
