3 hurt in shooting incident
at benefit dance in Bacolod

Three revelers, two of them minors, were injured when another one fired shots in a benefit dance at Fortune Towne Subdivision in Bacolod City, yesterday.

Injured were Ronald Tonza, 20, of Villa Angeles, Brgy. Estefania and two minors, Police Officer 2 Raymond Bandojo said.

The victims were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, while the suspect, identified as Wilfredo Andrada Jr., of Purok Active in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod, was arrested a few minutes after the incident.

Investigation showed that Andrada opened fire with a homemade shotgun at the subdivision park, where the benefit dance was being held.

The loose firearm that was allegedly used by Andrada was recovered by the police.

Meanwhile, a resident of Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City, was also injured when he was shot by his neighbor.

Efren Angelo, 43, of Hacienda Carmen in Brgy. Granada, sustained a gunshot wound on his left thigh and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, while the suspect Rene Amador, 58, is now in police custody.*APN

Cops probe
swindling complaint

A suspected drug peddler and his two companions were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at about 3:30 p.m. Friday in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.

Intelligence Officer 3 Cerilo Baluma, chief of the Intelligence Division of PDEA Region 6, identified those arrested as Noel Cabuguason, Jeffrey Orbecido and James Sausi all of Purok Sigay in Brgy. 2.

Baluma said Cabuguason was apprehended after he handed a small sachet of suspected shabu to one of their agents who acted as poseur-buyer in exchange for P520.

Additional four elongated sachet of suspected shabu and bamboo stick were recovered from Cabuguason when he was apprehended, police records showed.

Baluma said that when PDEA agents entered Cabuguason’s house, they found Orbecido and Sausi and confiscated two small sachets of the banned substance from them.

The suspects are now detained at Police Station 2 lock-up cell and illegal drug charges will be filed against them.*APN

Two caught illegally fishing

Two fishermen were apprehended by members of Bantay Dagat and Station 8 policemen, at about 10 a.m. Saturday, at the coastline of Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fishermen as Angelito Badaro, 46, and Jerry Jalagdon, 45, both of Brgy. Guinhalaran in Silay City, Negros Occidental.

The members of the Bantay Dagat and Station 8 policemen were conducting seaborne patrol when they saw Jalagdon and Badaro fishing in the prohibited zone.

They were not detained but their fishing gear were only confiscated by the team composed by Police Officer 3 Elvis Juarez, Police Officer 2 Noel Capablanca and Police Officer 1 Richard Figalan.*APN
