A doctor’s night

The Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists-Negros Occidental held the induction of its officers at L’Fisher Chalet recently that was attended by Dr. Grace Herbosa, the national president.

Inducted were Dr. Ramundo Guerrero, president; Pamela Marchadesch, vice president; Glynis Caduhada, secretary; Drs. Marycel Porras and Rosayregen Tan, assistant secretaries; Dr. Lily Jingco, treasurer; Dr. Lorelee Unabia, auditor and Dr. Roger Alburo, public relations officer, with Drs. Tess Galon, Ma. Theresa Jocelyn, Carolyn Yu, Stephen Del Mar and Wilfredo Banlaoi as members of the board of directors.

Aside from being aces in the operating table, they proved to be talented musicians as well. Entertainment that night was from their very own Anesthesia Department. Song numbers were rendered by Rane Montinola and Roger Alburo as the guitarist.

There was also a video presentation about Bacolod City and Negros Occidental. The video, made by Island Living Channel, will be their official video which Guerrero plans to use during his visits to the other chapters, to encourage them to attend the national midyear convention in Bacolod City. Guerrero is also the chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Memorial Hospital, and a staff member of the Dr. Torre Medical Center Department of Anesthesia.

The Neg. Occ. chapter is now preparing as they will be the host of the convention in 2013. *

Students join 5-day summer
training on speech, theater

Students from schools in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, attended the 5-day summer training on speech and theater, drama, print and broadcast media, at the Barangay Zone 5 Daycare Center, Cadiz City, recently, a press release from the city said.

Josanlo Caldera, president of the National Secondary School Paper Advisers Association, initiated the training and was the lecturer in the activity aimed at enhancing the skills of the students.

Julie Grace Consing, daycare center in-charge is one of the organizers.

The training ended with a program hosted by two of the participants Paul Joseph Consing and Carlene Santolices, and presentations in drama, theater and broadcasting, prepared by the participants, the press release added*

Marian comedy comeback

GMA’s star Marian Rivera embarks on her newest project “Tweets for my Sweet” on May 6, a press release from the station said.

The “dramedy” tells a story of Meg, played by Rivera, who grew up in the province and will take chances in obtaining her dream of having a Cafe transform into reality.

Roderick Paulate, meanwhile, returns to comedy in a very special role, after so many years of absence in the comedy scene, the press release also said.

Joining the cast are Kapuso actress Sheena Halili, Kusina Master’s chef Boy Logro, Elmo Magalona, Barbie Forteza, Mikey Bustos, and Nova Villa.

The show, directed by Uro dela Cruz, will start on Sunday after 24 Oras Weekend, the press release added.*
