Bacolod Rep. Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. has co-authored the National Land Use Policy and Management Act that will provide a holistic and rational approach in the development of Philippine resources, a press release from his office said.
Golez attended the Legislators' Forum on the Bill for a National Land Use organized by the Special Committee on Land Use, chaired by (Neg. Occ., 4 th District) Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer yesterday at the Office of the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives and attended by several congressmen.
Ferrer is also a co-author of the proposed measure.
The Campaign for Land Use Policy Now (CLUP Now!), a multi-sectoral network of 29 non-government organizations and people's organizations pushing for the passage of the NLUMA also assisted in organizing the forum, the release said.
Akbayan Party-List Rep. Kaka Bag-ao, Rep. Roy Loyola of the 5th District of Cavite, Muntinlupa City Rep. Rodolfo Biazon, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez of the 2nd District of Cagayan De Oro City were among the legislators who attended the forum, it said.
Golez said “It is about time that the country move for convergence on the matter of policy making in the management of our resources. The bill that I co-authored and heavily supporting will promote proper and sustainable development of resources in the entire Philippine archipelago,” the press release also said.
Golez has also organized a public discussion about the bill on hospital corporatization, the release also said.
The discussion will be held on Thursday in Bacolod City and the attendees in the discussion include Undersecretary Ted Herbosa of the Department of Health and Dr. Robert So of Philhealth, Maria Lourdes Sanchez of the Committee on Health of the House of Representatives, Sophia Flor Garduce and Frances Mae Ann Palatino of the Gabriela Party-List, Alejandro Deoma of the Bayan Muna Party-List, Tata Causing of the ALAM Party-List, and Dr. Fresco Yapendon of the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists.
Golez has also invited the Alliance of Health Workers, Kabataan Party-List, Governor Alfredo Marañon, Bacolod City Officials, Negros Occidental Provincial officials and congressmen, and other concerned organizations, the press release said.*
