DPWH warns vs.
fixers, solicitation

The Department of Public Works and Highways has warned the public to be wary of unauthorized solicitations and fund-raising activities, its press release said.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson issued the advisory after receiving reports that unscrupulous individuals are using his name and the DPWH in a fund-raising activity to solicit sponsorship for a golf tournament.

“I do not allow anybody to solicit funds or to get favorable considerations either through e-mail, text messages, letter or personally,” Singson said in the advisory.

The DPWH has also encountered attempts of powerful individuals acting as fixers to solicit projects or facilitating budget releases for DPWH projects. “Please do not entertain fixers or brokers for projects that are included in our regular budget,” he added in the press release from his office .

The public is advised to contact DPWH text 2920 or 24/7 Call Center Hotline 165-02 for any suspicious solicitation or fund-raising activities, the press release added.*
