Tchoukball boosts city tourism

Bacolod City Tourism Council chairman and former Bacolod Rep. John Orola Jr. said the 5 th Asia Pacific Tchoukball Championships to be held in Bacolod City starting tomorrow up to Sunday is part of the sports tourism program of the city in cooperation with the Negros Occidental Government.

Orola said about 300 delegates are expected from from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Korea, Pakistan, and Myanmar.

The opening of the 5 th Asia Pacific Tchoukball Championships will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the West Negros University .

Since there will be foreign nationals and businessmen arriving in Bacolod, there will be a presentation of trade and tourism opportunities in the city at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Masskara Hall of the Bacolod City Government Center, Orola said.

“We have invited businessmen, the Department of Trade and Industry and the provincial government to make their respective presentations,” he said. They will also be working with the trade and investment officer that the mayor will designate regarding their presentation on the investment opportunities in Bacolod , he added.

Meanwhile, nternational Tchoukball Federation officials led by its president Chris Wang of Taiwan arrived in Bacolod yesterday.

Philippine Taekwondo Federation president Gary Visitacion said Wang will be accompanied by George Chao and coach Shen Si Fang.*CGS
