Houses destroyed in
3 cities, 8 towns

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office yesterday reported that eight towns and three cities in Negros Occidental were hit by floods, strong winds and a tornado from July 27 to 31 that affected 10,036 Negrenses.

There were 2,244 families with 10,036 dependents affected when 112 houses were destroyed and 1,181 were damaged , provincial social welfare officer Liane Garcia said.

The PSWDO report said of the 112 houses destroyed Hinoba-an had 23, Valladolid – 32, Pulupandan -14, Silay City – 11 Pontevedra – 9, EB Magalona – 7, Himamaylan City - 6, San Enrique - 5, Bago City - 4, and Candoni - 1.

Of the 1,181 houses damaged Valladolid had 718, Hinobaan - 131, Bago City – 121, EB Magalona -107, Silay City – 55, Himamaylan – 20, Pulupandan – 12, San Enrique – 8, Hinigaran – 5 and Pontevedra – 4, the PSWDO also reported.
