Golez expects 17M at
Jam Step Philippines

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Rep. Anthony Rolando Golez Jr. said they are expecting about 17 million to attend the Jam Step Philippines on September 24 and maybe the mayor will not believe that again because he has his own philosophy.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said recently that, according to the solon, he will put Jam Step in the Guinness Book of World Records and he finds this ridiculous because the figure was a big lie.

Instead, he rightfully belongs to Ripley’s “Believe It or Not,” he said

Leonardia said the opening of the London Olympics was estimated by very prestigious media outlets like BBC, Sports Illustrated, and even the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin and Philippine Star, to be not more than 80,000 and yet Golez reported, and even reiterated by way of confirmation, that his Jam Step was attended by 87,700 students.

He is a unique person who can reconfirm his lies. By the mere pictures alone, the London Olympics showed a much bigger crowd than the Jam Step, he said.

Leonardia also pointed out that, based on the Department of Education figures, considering that Grade 4 to 6 pupils were invited of which there are 28,000 plus the high school students of about 28,000, that is a total of 56,000, granting there was perfect attendance.

But Bacolod Schools Division Superintendent Gemma Ledesma said only about 60 percent had attended, he said.

Golez said Leonardia is not listening to others but himself. He is not even listening to the President since he is for Charter Change.

“Even when officials said the total figures is 87,000, he would not listen. That is up to him. We will show to them who is lying,” he said.

Leonardia said he cannot say it is an old issue. This is a case of newly-discovered evidence because of the very recent opening ceremonies of the London Olympics, that several people noticed and pointed out, he said.

Golez said he is thinking of nominating the mayor as chief justice since he is a lawyer and because he seems to knows a lot

Meanwhile, Golez said he has not been updated about his status with the National People’s Coalition.

But as a member of the 15th House of Congress he is still the senior vice chairman of the Health Committee and the vice chairman of the Defense Committee representing the majority under the NPC, he said.

“Meaning to say I am still a member because I still hold those committees,” he said.

Any congressman will say that whoever is the incumbent official should be respected by the party, Golez said. But if they are spreading other stories, maybe they have other plans, he said.*CGS
