Negros Occidental is the official host of the 16th Dairy Congress and Expo to be held in Bacolod City next year, Danilo Fausto, DairyCon national president, said in a letter to Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr.
Faustu said this is due to its greatly improved accessibility, upbeat local economy, and unlimited opportunities for trade and investment.
Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena, said, the Negros Federation of Dairy Cooperatives will lead in the preparation and hosting with the PVO and the provincial government.
Decena said this shows that the province has a trade mark in promoting the industry and its goal of sustaining the livestock market through various projects of the governor.
DairyCon represents the apex of dairy farmers both cooperative-based and other private groups that stands as an advocacy and coordinating body in developing industry standards, Fausto also said in his letter.
He added that dairy development is imperative in directly supporting the programs of the government in generating employment and promoting food security. *LTG
