BY RENE GENOVE

The National Statistics Office Dumaguete City will hire 901 field interviewers for the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture in Negros Oriental.

Elgie Magallo of the Governor’s Office said those interested to apply may submit their applications to their barangay captains not later than Sept. 7, 2012.

An applicant should not be more than 45 years old, a college graduate or must have completed at least two years of tertiary education, physically fit and able to travel, with good moral character, has legible handwriting, can speak the local dialect and can operate a Global Positioning System device.

Those hired will receive a daily wage of P286 and a fixed allowance of P50. The interviewers will be fielded to gather data on the socio-economic profile of farmers, farm laborers and fishermen in the barangays where they are residing.

The RSBSA registration will start on September 17 and end on November 9 this year.

Negros Oriental is with the second batch of provinces whose database is targeted for completion by July 2013. The first batch of provinces started their registration activities January this year, Magallo added.*RG
