Rafael Salas Library now open

The Rafael M. Salas Library at the Negros Museum was inaugurated recently and is now open to the public.

Present at the opening were Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Bacolod Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson and Bago Vice Mayor Nicholas Yulo, a press release from the museum said.

Former Senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr., a trustee of the Rafael M Salas Park and Nature Center Foundation, Inc., was the guest of honor of the launch.

Dr. Nena Nolido was emcee and Lyn Gamboa of the Negros Cultural Foundation gave the opening remarks, the press release also said.

Former Bacolod Mayor Joy Valdez spearheaded the creation of the RMS Library from the book collection of Rafael M Salas, the press release said.

Menchu Rodriguez Salas was present and thanked the attendees, the press release added.*
