Boston, Watchmen tangle
in winner-take-all Game 3

Boston Finance and Watchmen Daily Journal/Vertex head for final showdown tonight at 8:30 p.m. in Game 3 of the best-of-three final of the 1st LNA7/PROBAC Invitational Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University gym.

Both squads are now even in the series after Boston escaped with a two-point win in Game 1, 131-129, while Watchmen leveled the contest with a 110-96 victory in Game 2.

Depriving Boston the championship in Game 2, Watchmen came out with an explosive 23-point lead, 42-19, in the first quarter led by Marion Opu-an with 14 points.

Joshbianc remains undefeated
in Fil-Sino basketball tourney

Joshbianc Motors swept the elimination round with an emphatic victory over MRT Gentech, 111-88, while Fyr Fyter Marketing improved its quarterfinal chances by defeating Johann Kendrick, 100-90, at the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 2nd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Joshua Co waxed hot in the fourth quarter as he delivered seven triples, to lead Joshbian with 42 points.

Daniel Lo added 18 points, Bobby Yap tallied 17, and Richard Co hit 13 points as Joshbianc advance to the next round with an unbeaten record.

Team 1 routs Team 5 in
BTTHS cagefest

Team 1 Willtrade Marketing/Phoenix registered its second win with an 85-69 victory over two-time defending champion Team 5 as competition heats up in the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Alumni Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym over the weekend.

Bong Lopez sizzled in the first quarter as he scored 16 points, while Siopao Dechavez and Rommel Ting backed him up with five points each as the Rey Pandoro-mentored Team 1 had a 32-9 fiery start.

Carlos Chiu joined the scoring spree with 13 points in the second quarter as Team 1 dominated the first half at 49-27.
