WNU Mustangs up to regain
NOPSSCEA football crown

After a bleak season last year for the West Negros University Mustangs football team, head coach Norman Fegidero yesterday said that they are ready to regain the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association crown this year.

“We are looking at getting back into the championship and regain the title – which is the dream of every team,” said Fegidero, who is also a former national men’s team mentor.

“Compared to last year, my current team – though composed of 60 percent rookies, have a better chance to enter the finals. This is because we have good players who can deliver,” he said.

Magsanoc,  Codiñera to
play with local cagers

Two PBA legends Ronnie Magsanoc and Jerry Codiñera will play a friendly exhibition game with the locals in Purok Langka, Brgy. Taloc in Bago City on Saturday.

Before the game, the two veteran cagers will lead the unveiling of the “Court of Inspiration”, a basketball court built by volunteers in the barangay with the assistance of Alaxan FR.

The court contains the `Legend Markers’ or motivational messages about the accomplishments of Filipino basketball legends to inspire locals to achieve the same greatness, a press release from the company said.

Joshbianc, Robinhood
rout rivals in YBAC tilt

Joshbianc Motors posted a back-to-back win, while Robinhood Commercial routed its rival in the recent match-ups of the Your Basketball Athletic Club (YBAC) 1st Conference Presidential Cup 2012 played at the Manville Royale gym in Barangay Tangub.

The Motors came out with an 88-82 triumph over RD Trucking to duplicate their earlier victory against Jaltas Marketing/Consuelo’s.

Marlon Caballero scored 10 points in the opening quarter as Oscar Aquino and Joel Togle backed him up with 8 points each, while playmaker and former YBAC president Jun Ballesteros delivered 10 assists to spearhead the Motors’ 32-point.
